We are an in-home daycare and preschool in Lake Stevens, WA. Tiny Scholars Daycare offers full-time childcare for children ages 1- 5. Our program is ran by two certified teachers who engage children in a variety of developmentally appropriate themed lessons which include basic Spanish, basic ASL, science, math, language arts, and social emotional learning.
Our daycare and preschool also offers hands-on explorative play and lots of outdoor play on a daily basis. We incorporate and emphasize kindness into our daily routines. Overall, we create a safe and nurturing environment in which all kids feel safe, confident, and happy to be a part of our daycare family!
Key Focus Skills for Ages 1-2 (Pre-Toddlers & Toddlers)
Language and social emotional skills- (reading books, pointing to pictures and naming objects, building vocabulary, using puppets and literature to build emotional literacy, modeling kind social interactions and social skills)
Key ASL signs are modeled and taught while speaking the word (during mealtime and playtime)
Cognitive skills -(puzzles, memory games to develop memory skills, songs, nursery rhymes, routines and choices)
Spanish is integrated when signing songs and reading bilingual books
Physical skills -(gross motor skills, fine motor skills, and sensory exploration)
Creative expression- (music and movement, imaginative play, art, building/ creating)

Science and exploration- (five senses, nature-based exploration, inquiry-based learning, and STEAM)
Language and literacy skills- (read aloud stories, retelling stories, comprehension activities, alphabet & phonics, writing and fine motor skills, spelling and writing own name)
Spanish and ASL skills integrated during mealtimes and lessons
Math (rational counting, rote counting, shapes & patterns, measurement, story problems involving basic math and subtraction)
Creative expression (music and movement, imaginative play, art, building and creating)
Social and emotional development skills - (Identifying emotions and feelings, learning and applying coping strategies, practicing using calm words to communicate needs and setting boundaries, self-regulating skills)
Physical skills -gross motor skills, fine motors skills, and self-care tasks to build independence
A nutritious breakfast, morning snack, lunch, and afternoon snack
Small group ratio (2 teachers / 10 children total)
Bi-Weekly themed lessons and activities that cover a variety of topics
Potty-training, if needed
