Tino Laidin

PhD student in mathematics

I am a PhD student at Université de Lille in the ANEDP team of laboratory Paul Painlevé. I am also affiliated to the Inria RAPSODI team at centre Inria de l'université de Lille.

I started my PhD in october 2021, under the supervision of Marianne Bessemoulin-Chatard and Thomas Rey. My research focuses on the approximation of solutions to kinetic equations. More specifically, I work on computational aspects of kinetic simulations by developing hybrid multiscale methods, which take advantage of the moments of the unknown. At the same time, I'm investigating structure-preserving discretizations that guarantee the correct behavior of numerical solutions such as the long-time asymptotic.
