I am a postdoctoral researcher at University of California, Santa Barbara, working in Prof. Caitlin Casey's group. My research focuses on the cosmic reionization era, when early galaxies formed, evolved, and ionized the intergalactic medium. Specifically, I study reionization via hydrogen Lya absorption in galaxy/quasar spectra.
I did my PhD at the Cosmic Dawn Center, Niels Bohr Institute, University of Copenhagen. During my PhD, I worked at the interface between observations and theory with Prof. Charlotte Mason and Prof. Anne Hutter. I used Gpc-scale reionization simulations, forward modeling, and Bayesian inference to study the relationship between re-ionized bubbles and Lya lines from observable galaxies.
I obtained an MSc in Astronomy and a BSc in Physics at National Tsing Hua University (NTHU), Taiwan. I was in the NTHU cosmology group led by Prof. Tomotsugu Goto, where I worked on analysing quasar spectra.
I was born and raised in Taipei, Taiwan, the capital city of the nice little subtropical island facing the Pacific Ocean, with all the yummy food. Outside astronomy, I enjoy playing badminton, running, swimming, eating, reading, hanging with my dog, and staying in my warm and fluffy blanket.
