This game is called The Hardest Star Adventure. As the name says, it should be difficult. Your overall goal is to navigate Starry back to her home, the middle of the galaxy at the ver bottom left. However, obstacles like alien spaceships, asteroids and planets are in her way. Use the arrow keys on your keyboard to navigate Starry. Move your way around them as carefully as possible since they are also moving and reappearing. Even the slightest touch can send you back to the moon. You only have ten lives to make it back home. The moons on the screen are save points. You will respawn back at the previous moon that you had contact with if you accidentally touched an obstacle, so make sure to reach every save point! If you lose or win, there will be a "Replay" button for you to click. You will restart at the very beginning with 10 lives again.

Planning

IDEA:

The game will have one stage. You will be given 5 lives. In the stage, the player has to navigate the star back to its galaxy with the arrow keys on the keyboard through the maze-like stage. However, there will be asteroids and planets in the way. Dodge them all by maneuvering the star around them. The obstacles will be moving around in different directions. Some will be orbiting in circles, moving together in unison, and moving left, right, up, and down. If the star gets in contact with any of the obstacles, you will loose a life, which is shown on the top left. There are save points in certain areas. If the player reaches it, that it where the star will respawn at that location if you lost a life. Once you loose all your lives, a 'game over' screen will appear and you have to start from the very beginning again. This game got some inspiration from The World's Most Hardest Game.

Components

Code:

An Intro scene with a galaxy as the background.
A play button that changes the scene to the game stage.
The star (player) starts at the beginning point of the stage.
Every time the player gets in contact with the obstacles, the life count goes down by one.
Have the star respawn at the beginning or save points if you touch any of the obstacles.
If lives reach zero, it goes to the game over screen with a “start over” button and it takes
them back to the intro scene.
Animate the obstacles to continuously move a certain path. For example, the asteroid
continuously moves left and right across the stage or planets lined up and orbiting in a
circle together in a line.
The star (player) continuously animated (spinning).
Constraints to prevent the player from exiting the game scene.
If the player completes the game, a winning scene will appear.
A “play again” button that takes them back to the beginning.

Challenges:

Getting the player to start at specific save points if the player made contact with the obstacles.
Animating the obstacles to go a specific path continuously and the star (player) to float and spin.
Creating unique stage that is challenging but fun.
The “Restart” and “Play Again” button to have the player start the game over again.
