My name is Dr. Timothy Reagin. I am originally from Ocean City, Maryland and have lived in Greensboro since 2014. I earned my Ph.D. from UNC-Greensboro in 2020. My dissertation title is “North Carolina, Claude Kitchin, and the Great War, 1869-1923.” I specialized in late nineteenth and early twentieth century American political and social history. I earned my Master's and Bachelors in history from Salisbury University (go Seagulls!) with specializations in Civil Rights and Colonial Chesapeake History.
I have taught high school AP social studies courses since 2020. I began teaching at the University, College, and Community College levels in 2013. I have served as an AP history grader for College Board since 2017. I've published articles and book reviews in several academic journals.
I really value the role of the Advanced Placement classes. Research has shown how much taking an AP class can benefit a student in their academic life regardless of their performance on the exam. However, I always encourage students to try their best because they can get a jump start on their college studies with these classes. Former students have returned to tell me how well my AP classes helped them to prepare for college. My favorite classes are APUSH and AP World!
My hobbies include: playing with my kids, Owen and Heidi; going on movie dates with my wife, Savanna; playing video games; and watching sports: Nationals, Capitals, Commanders, & Wizards.
