REQUIRED FORMS
We are collecting waivers for all participants, music licenses (due to live streaming on NFHS), and rosters for this event. Please visit the registration page to download the forms and fill them out and bring them to registration when you arrive.
SCORING & DIVISIONS
Divisions will be divided by scoring system (WY, CO) and school size (5A, 4A, 3A, etc) and division (All Girl, Coed, Game Day). We will have certified judges from each state as well as top tier technical judges to ensure your skills are legal for your state competitions. We will provide detailed routine feedback on any adjustments that are recommended prior to your state competition in addition to the feedback on score sheets! Technical judge will be available to answer questions after the competition.
Teams will receive their tech sheets prior to the division concluding, however, we are not allowing contesting of technical deductions due to sheer bandwidth. We will review all technical deductions with the head judge. Score sheets will be available after awards for each division.
You will receive the breakdown of your divisions by email no later than Sunday evening, November 17th at 11pm.
Our judging panel Is stacked and this should keep the pace of the competition on track: Keith Espinoza (tech), Ryan Stock (Panel), Kaitlyn Lyday (Panel), Tanner Lyday (Panel), Meredith Kidd (Panel), Megan Hawthorne (Panel), Erin Bruggemen (Panel), Dawn Burton (Panel), Travis Prior (Panel), and Shaun Jones (Head Judge).
AWARDS
Division winners will receive banners. All places will be announced.
EMCEE
Vinny Wilson will be the Emcee for our event.
JUMP OFF
There will be a jump off before each award presentation where each team can send up to 6 athletes. We will break the sessions up. All teams competing before the first awards session, and not competing after the first awards session, will join the jump off. Only competing teams are eligible (not exhibition teams). Teams competing after the second awards session, regardless if they competed in the first session or not, will participate in the second round of the jump off. This is specifically because we do not want athletes focusing on themselves for this fun event until they are finished competing with their team for the day. The winner of each session will receive a teal NoCo Classic T shirt! We will send a message in Band specifically for where athletes need to go to line up before the Jump Off begins. We encourage teams to come into the gym and support their teammates!
COST
The cost Is $300 per team, and $150 for an additional entry for the same team. For example, Varsity and JV would be $300 each, but for a Varsity competing a traditional and a game day routine, they would pay $450 total. If you need an Invoice to be created or need to make your payment, It must be done prior to the event.
This competition will benefit the Timnath Cheerleading Booster Club and support Timnath Cheerleading.
EXPERIENCE
Team rooms
Competing teams will be assigned rooms. There will be a checkout process when you leave to ensure rooms are left as they were found. We are lucky to have a beautiful, new building and classrooms but want to make sure we respect them so we can continue to do events like these In the future. Only competition workers, coaches and athletes will be allowed In classrooms and down hallways. This Is for the safety of the athletes. You are still liable / responsible for all of your Items but having assigned classrooms can help minimize lost Items.
Live streaming
We will be streaming the event on the NFHS network. We will mirror this live stream Into the commons, so you can watch teams In the commons and do not have to be In the gym If you need a break with your team between routines. We will also have vendors and open tables and seating In the commons.
Photos
We have a backdrop for photos that we would LOVE for you to take team photos In front of and tag @timnathcheer and @classicchampionships on Instagram!
We will have David Johnson Photography taking action shots at the event. He will have galleries for teams available for purchase as singles or full galleries after the event.
Warm up experience
We are committed to a positive warm up experience. We have two gyms that will be used for warm up: One for stunts in our flex gym with two panels, and one for tumbling on side A and with a full floor on side B In our small gym. We will have a curtain down between the sides of the gym to give the most privacy during warm up possible to each team and to minimize the noise from the full floor warm up and how it impacts tumbling on mat 2. We will not regulate skills on mat 2, you can stunt more when you finish tumbling. We will have water stations for teams between warm up and the performance mat with full gatorade coolers and disposable cups. There Is a corridor between the small gym and the large gym where teams will wait until they take the performance floor and 1-2 teams could be lined up In the small gym near the entrance of this corridor waiting to be officially on deck. We ask they respect the team warming up on the full floor and do any call ups or loud chants / yelling once they get Into the corridor between the gyms. We will have timers moving you from mat to mat, please keep our competition on time and be respectful, leaving the mat when asked. You will be given a 1 minute and 30 second warning before your time Is up and will be provided 1 minute to transition between each surface.
Trainer
A trainer will be on site, but please bring your own pre-wrap / tape If you need to be taped. We will post Information In Band that morning of where the trainer Is located. The trainer Is an OCR employee and contracts for the district.
Security
We will have security and custodial on site to ensure safety of our participants and attendees. Coaches will receive wrist bands and only those with wrist bands can go Into the school hallways, up the stairs to classrooms, or In classrooms or the warm up area backstage. Wrist bands are also required to pick up tech sheets and score sheets. Additionally, stamps will be given to all spectators and they must have one or they will not be permitted to enter the commons or gym.
Food / Drink for Teams
You may bring food In for your teams but all food should be brought In via the team entrance. Outside food and drink for spectators Is not permitted. Empty water bottles are fine, as there are many stations around the school.
