Program Director, Varsity Head Coach
Nikki Rodriguez has been coaching cheerleading since 2007 and brings nearly two decades of experience building competitive, development-focused programs. She has led teams to state and national success, including Colorado’s first-ever All-Girl Division I National Championship at UCA Nationals, along with multiple conference championships and state finals appearances.
As an athlete, Nikki has a background in dance and was a varsity cheerleader, first captain, and member of the inaugural graduating class at Fossil Ridge High School. Being part of a brand-new high school and witnessing the impact a strong cheer program can have on culture and community inspired her passion for program-building - a vision she now brings to Timnath High School.
Throughout her coaching career, Nikki has coached 20+ athletes who have gone on to cheer at Division I universities, including Baylor University, University of Colorado, University of New Mexico, University of Arizona, San Diego State University, and Colorado State University, among others. She has also coached multiple athletes who have gone on to become UCA Staff members and coaches, helping grow the sport nationwide.
Coach Rodriguez is known for developing athletes at every level, emphasizing team-first mentality, clean execution, confidence, and leadership - believing athletes don’t need to arrive with all the skills, but with commitment, effort, and coachability, anything is possible.
Outside of cheerleading, Nikki is a marketing executive at Hach, and is married with two children and lives locally in Timnath.
Program Assistant Coach + Varsity Coach
Danika Hutchin is entering her third full year as an Assistant Cheer Coach here at Timnath and brings a deep, well-rounded background in competitive athletics to the program.
As an athlete, Danika spent 10 years in competitive gymnastics, 11 years in competitive dance, and 7 years in all star competitive cheer before cheering Division I at Colorado State University. Making the jump from competitive cheer to a D1 sideline program is a rare achievement, especially without prior sideline experience, and is something Danika takes great pride in. During her time at CSU, she had the opportunity to cheer at two bowl games and three Mountain West basketball tournaments, experiences that helped shape her continued passion for sideline cheer.
As a coach, Danika is proud to have played a role in helping build the Timnath cheer program into one that is nationally and statewide recognized in a short amount of time. Beyond results, Danika is most proud of the culture, growth, and confidence the athletes have developed under the coaching staff.
Outside of coaching, Danika works as an SEO Project Manager and Account Manager and has about six years of experience in digital marketing and search engine optimization. In her free time outside of cheer and work, she enjoys spending time with her husband, golden retriever, and two cats. She also loves working out, running, hiking, and cooking.
What Danika loves most about coaching at Timnath is getting to know each athlete on an individual level and helping them grow not only in their skills, but as people. Competition season is her favorite time of year.
Danika’s coaching philosophy centers on preparing athletes for life beyond cheer. She hopes every athlete leaves the program feeling confident, proud, and without regrets, ready to take on the world, whether that means continuing their cheer career in college or stepping into the next chapter of life as stronger, kinder, and more self-assured humans.
Varsity Assistant Coach
Alexa Gomolak is heading into her second full season of coaching, a role she is incredibly excited and grateful for. Cheerleading has been a central part of her life for as long as she can remember, and she is passionate about providing athletes with the same positive outlet and empowering experience that shaped her own journey.
Before joining Timnath, Alexa spent five years in the All-Star cheer world and then went on to cheer for four years on Varsity Cheer at Fossil Ridge High School. She is currently a Colorado State University Cheerleader, where she serves as a main base. One of the most meaningful parts of her cheer journey was being coached for three years at Fossil Ridge by Head Coach Nikki Rodriguez, whose leadership and belief in her athletes continue to strongly influence Alexa’s coaching style today.
As an athlete, Alexa was fortunate to be part of teams that trained relentlessly and competed at high levels. Some of her proudest accomplishments include:
3rd Place at UCA Nationals (Gameday, Small Varsity DI – 2023)
4th Place at UCA Nationals (Gameday, Medium Varsity DI – 2020)
3rd Place at the Colorado State Spirit Championship in 5A Cheer (2022)
3x State Finalist & 3x Nationals Finalist
2x Academic All-State First Team
All-State (2022)
UCA All-American (2022)
As a coach, Alexa is most proud of the growth she sees beyond titles. She loves helping athletes develop not only as cheerleaders, but as confident, responsible, and supportive young adults. At the same time, she is proud of the program’s competitive success, including:
3rd Place at UCA Nationals in Traditional (Medium NT DII – 2025)
State Finals appearances in 2024 and 2025
Nationals Finalist finishes in both Traditional and Gameday (2025)
A Top 15 finish in one of the most competitive Gameday divisions in 2025
Outside of coaching, Alexa is an Accounting major at Colorado State University and a member of the CSU Honors College. When she is not in class or coaching, she is often cheering herself. Remaining an active CSU Cheerleader allows her to continue learning from outstanding coaches while bringing fresh skills, knowledge, and energy back to the athletes she coaches.
What Alexa loves most about coaching at Timnath is the community. The athletes and their families are hardworking, kind, driven, and incredibly supportive. She looks forward to practice each day and takes pride in watching the program continue to grow and improve.
Alexa’s coaching philosophy is simple: kindness matters. Being kind to teammates is the most important thing an athlete can do—kindness never fails in cheerleading or in life. Her goal is for every athlete she coaches to leave the program with confidence, a strong work ethic, lifelong friendships, and pride in who they are both on and off the mat.
