Fields: the TIMEDOMES project targets 4 of the LSST Deep Drillig Fields (DDF), namely the Cosmos, Chandra Deep Field South, Elais-S1 and XMM-LSS.
Observations: the TIMEDOMES data include observations from a number of past legacy surveys, including SUDARE/VOICE, KIDS, VEGAS, KABS/VSTxSKA. Since 2011 these have been extended in both spatial and temporal coverage by dedicated TIMEDOMES observations obtained on GO and GTO VST time.
Cadence: TIMEDOMES data (including legacy and dedicated observations) span from 2011 up to 2026. The cadence and wavelength coverage is irregular due to the different aims of each survey.
Photometry and lightcurves: the VST exposures are composed of 5 dithers for a total of ~3600 sec per visit, allowing to reach a magnitude limit in r~23.5-24 mag. The quality of each visit is determined based on a comparison with a reference epoch, and quantified by the offset and the r.m.s. scatter of the magnitude difference between visits. The measured offset is used to cross-calibrate te visits and build the final lightcurves.
Magnitude difference (offset) of one visit w.r.t. the reference epoch.
Offset as a function of position across the VST image.
