Welcome to Time Warp Scan - Face Filter Cam ("App", "we", "our", or "us"). We are committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and protect information when you use our mobile application available on the Google Play Store.

By downloading or using our App, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy. If you do not agree with the terms of this Privacy Policy, please do not use the App.

2. Information We Collect

2.1 Information We DO NOT Collect

We are committed to maximum privacy protection. The following data is never collected, stored on our servers, transmitted, or shared by our App:

❌ Your real name, email address, or personal identity
❌ Your location data (GPS, IP-based, or network-based)
❌ Your contacts or address book
❌ Your device files beyond what you explicitly choose to save

2.2 Information That May Be Collected Automatically

Certain limited, non-personal technical information may be collected automatically through third-party services integrated into the App:

a) Advertising Data (Google AdMob)

Our App displays advertisements powered by Google AdMob (provided by Google LLC). AdMob may collect the following data to deliver personalized or contextual advertisements:

Device advertising ID (Android Advertising ID / GAID)
Approximate location (derived from IP address — not GPS)
Device type, model, and operating system version
App usage interactions with advertisements (clicks, impressions)
Language and time zone settings

You can opt out of personalized advertising at any time via your Android device: Settings → Google → Ads → Opt out of Ads Personalization

b) Crash & Performance Data

The App may collect anonymized crash reports and performance metrics to improve stability. This data does not include personal information and cannot be used to identify you.

3. Permissions Explained

Our App requests the following Android permissions. Each permission is used only for the features described below and never for data collection purposes.

Camera & Microphone: All camera processing and face filter effects are executed entirely on your device using on-device processing. Your camera feed is never streamed, uploaded, or transmitted to any external server.

4. On-Device Face Detection

Our App uses Google ML Kit Face Detection for applying real-time face filters, face warp effects, and animal face morphing. This technology:

✅ Runs 100% on your device — no data is sent to Google's servers for inference
✅ Processes only the live camera frame in real-time memory
✅ Does not store, record, or retain any facial geometry, landmarks, or biometric data
✅ Does not create a facial recognition profile or template

ML Kit's on-device API processes facial landmark coordinates momentarily in RAM to apply visual effects. This data is discarded immediately after each frame is processed.

5. Local Data Storage

The App stores the following information locally on your device only:

User Preferences — App settings such as dark/light theme, haptic feedback toggle, selected language, and recent filters used. Stored using Android DataStore on your device.
Media Gallery Index — A lightweight database (Room) of photos and videos you create with the App, stored locally to display in the in-app gallery. This is an index only; the actual media files are saved in your device's standard DCIM folder.

None of this locally stored data is transmitted to us or any third party.

6. Data Sharing and Disclosure

We do not sell, trade, rent, or share your personal information with third parties except in the following limited circumstances:

Google AdMob: As described in Section 2.2, AdMob collects advertising-related data under Google's Privacy Policy.
Legal Requirements: We may disclose information if required to do so by law, court order, or governmental authority.
Business Transfer: In the event of a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, user information (if any is held) may be transferred as part of that transaction.

7. Data Retention

Since we do not collect personal data on our servers:

Ad data is retained by Google AdMob per Google's data retention policies.
Local app data (preferences and gallery index) remains on your device until you uninstall the App, at which point it is automatically deleted by Android.
Your photos and videos are saved in your device's DCIM folder and are under your full control. Deleting the App does not delete media already saved to your gallery.

8. Children's Privacy

Our App is rated for Everyone and is suitable for all ages. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under the age of 13 (or the applicable age of digital consent in your region).

The App does not:

Require account registration or sign-in
Collect names, email addresses, or contact details
Enable in-app communication between users
Share user-generated content publicly

If you believe a child under 13 has provided us with personal information, please contact us immediately at the email address listed in Section 11 and we will take steps to delete such information.

This App complies with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) and Google Play's Families Policy.

9. Your Rights

Depending on your country of residence, you may have the following rights regarding your data:

If you are a resident of the EEA or UK, you have the right to:

Since we do not collect personal data directly, most of these rights would be exercised directly with Google (for AdMob data) at https://myaccount.google.com.

9.2 CCPA Rights (California, USA)

If you are a California resident, you have the right to:

Know what personal information is collected about you
Know whether your personal information is sold or disclosed, and to whom
Opt out of the sale of your personal information
Request deletion of your personal information
Not be discriminated against for exercising your CCPA rights

We do not sell your personal information. For advertising preferences, opt out via your Android device settings as described in Section 2.2.

10. Security

We take the protection of your information seriously. Since all sensitive data (camera feed, face processing) is handled entirely on-device and never transmitted to our servers, the primary security risks are managed by your Android device's built-in security model.

We implement the following security practices:

The App does not request unnecessary permissions
File sharing uses Android's FileProvider API with strict URI permissions — files cannot be accessed by other apps without explicit sharing intent
The App does not store sensitive information in logs, shared preferences, or unencrypted databases
The in-app gallery database contains only file paths — not the media content itself

11. Third-Party Links and Services

The App may contain links to third-party websites or services (e.g., our Play Store listing, social media sharing targets). We are not responsible for the privacy practices of those third parties. We encourage you to review the privacy policies of any third-party services you access.
