I want to have 2 different wallpapers that change according to time of day (6 and 22 hours respectively) and only want to display the night one after 22 hours and the day one only after 6 hours and until 22 hours.

I didn't find a program that can do this after a standby, so I thought it should be easy to realize with the task scheduler running a script. Now the question is not only how to realize such a script, but also if the script should include the time checking or the task scheduler. I'm not sure what would work better with long times of the PC being in standby.

It was also mentioned that it wouldn't change wallpaper if you've had your computer shut down at the time it should change. This is wrong, as the task can be set to run on the first boot after the selected time, so it will be set once you start the computer even if it was off during the time it should have changed. To set this up, go to the specific tasks properties and into the settings tab. Tick the second box in the window and off you go.

The one downside of my solution is that, I now have a batch file running all the time, though I guess a scheduled task would be a better implementation and take care of that problem, I like to build things that only really interact with themselves. So far this hasn't needed any restart, of the computer or explorer to switch between slideshows, it just rolls over to the next slideshow after the time between slides is over. I haven't tried to make it fail yet, but running it for two weeks seems enough of a debug period to me.

I'm rather new to the windows OS, so my apologies if this has too many obvious statements in it, or is easily done by clicking a few times. I figure this kind of thing is the fastest way to learn the inner workings of the OS, though I think I could have wrote this in about five lines in a linux bash script rather than the forty some odd line batch colossus.

To do what you intend to do, you should create two taks, each one of them scheduled to execute one script or command to change from one to another wallpaper at the specific time that you want to. These commands should be able to automatically change your Windows wallpaper by itself, and the easiest way to do that is using Windows Registry. Here you can find HOWTO: Change the Desktop Wallpaper with the folowing registry key:

Sadly I don't think there is anything built into Windows that would allow you to do this without needing to actually log out and log back in. Since Wallpapers can be controlled via the registry, you could construct a batch file to modify the registry entry - but changes to the wallpaper itself wouldn't be seen until you log out and back in. You could try a 3rd party app such like: -Wallpaper-Changer/3000-2336_4-10560884.html

It took founder and creative director Daniel Baer years to arrive at what he considers the perfect forms, proportions and weight for his minimalist cutlery collection, which he created in collaboration with designer Felix de Pass. This is the first time de Pass has created a flatware set, and it was important to Baer that the collection would be conceived with a fresh perspective on the everyday tools.

But for some reason when I start my application by pressing the icon. It just shows the activity screen with the icons on the home screen. I didn't use dialog but it looks like a dialog because layout is just set that way. So I just want to show the wallpaper whenever this activity is running. But it only shows the wallpaper only after the next event occurs such as switching to different activity. I already put that code on onCreate() and whenever I do setContentView()..... Is there way to do such thing or there is just no way?

It warrants reiterating that testing will help you determine if a paper is durable enough for your floor, so consider ordering samples and trying them out for an extended period of time before you order more.

TIP! If you want greater confidence that your floor project (and investment) will work out, you might also want to consider specially-made floor wallpapers, such as those sold by Quadrostyle, Bluecoin and FloorPops. These vinyl floor coverings are formulated to withstand heavy foot traffic and moisture; however, that durability comes at a price. Floor wallpapers tend to be MUCH more expensive than a roll of standard adhesive wallpaper.

I have installed a lot of wallpapers, and time-and-time again I use the same method: start from the center. I prefer to remove a wide chunk of the paper backing from the center of the panel, and then roll up a few inches of the backing in both directions (this will make it easier to pull out as you smooth the panel down).

Over time, the tension of the paper across the empty spaces (created by the grooves) actually caused the paper to crack/split apart. I will discuss this in more detail below; but to prevent what I eventually experienced, I now recommend laying your paper down into any sizable grooves, keeping your wallpaper flush against the floor at all times.

In originally researching this project, I read this tutorial over and over, where the DIYer recommended adding a clear polyacrylic coat over top of the wallpaper. While adding a clear floor sealer will most certainly lead to improved durability, I intentioinally chose not to do this step.

As you can see, the paper eventually split along most of the grout lines due to that tension discussed above. Then, because the paper was essentially sliced into smaller squares, it became quite easy for it to peel up all together (mainly due to water getting under each section thanks to the open seams). By the end our our time in this house, we had 3 large sections of flooring without any paper on it.

I very much believe the issues we experienced were mostly due to the quality of the paper I picked and how I dealt with the grout lines. I am pretty confident that thicker and/or vinyl-like wallpaper spread across the floor and into the grooves would not have resulted in the same horrible cracks (which is then what led to the paper peeling up entirely).

Yep! The paper itself stuck to our tile without any issue and even laid down smooth and flat (no wrinkles or air bubbles in sight!) Where I ran into trouble was along the grout lines. Instead of stretching the paper straight across the grout lines to create a chasm, I would instead work the paper into any recessed areas so that it remains in contact with the floor at all times.

And to answer the most important question: it currently support (as far as I know) Mate desktop, Gnome, Budgie or light wm like awesome or I3 by using nitrogen to set the wallpaper. You can also indicate a shared place on your system to let lightdm or any other login manager access the current wallpaper and bring some continuity to your desktop.

So, to answer what I remember: yes Chwall currently set wallpaper using the `--set-zoom-fill` nitrogen parameter, in a nave expectation that it will fit most of the case. Before setting the wallpaper, it just check if the picture is width anouth to be streched on all display as one wallpaper, or be duplicated across displays.

Note, primer usually comes in a grey-ish white. Did you know that you can have the primer tinted at the hardware store any color? This is a good step to take so that the primer matches the wallpaper background color if it happens to show.

Do NOT paint before wallpapering. Why? Paint needs at least 30 DAYS to cure before wallpaper can be put over it. What happens if you paint and then wallpaper quickly? In my experience, the paint continues to try to cure and that puts bubbles in the wallpaper so it looks horrible.

So what if the wall has been painted with latex paint more than 30 days before wallpapering? Personally, I just clean the wall and wallpaper over it. The only exception is if the paint color will show through the wallpaper. Then it should be primed.

Most people start with a piece of wallpaper, decide on a wall to begin on and start from one side and go to the other. Sure, that might work out, but it might also lead to an issue. Instead, plan out the layout first!

To plan the wallpaper layout, cut a strip of wallpaper off the end of the roll of wallpaper. Then, hold it on the wall where you want to begin and use post it notes to mark the end of where each piece of wallpaper will hit. Keep going around the room or across the wall/ceiling until you get to your ending point.

First of all, if the walls are already wallpapered the wallpaper needs to be removed. To do that, use a wallpaper scoring tool to make tiny holes in the wallpaper. Then spray down the wallpaper with a mixture of 4 cups of hot water and 1/3 cup vinegar. Let that sit for 5 minutes.

Finally, you need to get all of the wallpaper paste off the wall. Combine 1 Tablespoon of dish detergent with hot water. Use a sponge to take off any leftover paste. Finish by cleaning the wall with warm water to make sure all residue has been removed.

Second note, when taking down wallpaper, if the paint comes off, I have a post on what to do about peeling paint. Careful wallpaper removal will usually eliminate peeling paint unless the paint was done poorly or too soon before wallpapering.

I am so excited to kick off this room transformation series by sharing my favorite DIY checkered wallpaper hack! After redoing our back room several times to accommodate different ideas, we have finally decided its rightful use should be for our daughter Leesie!

It acted as a guest room for years and provided the perfect amount of privacy for when friends and family came over. This room is separate from the rest of the house and has a nearby bathroom with a shower, so that was the ideal setup! This worked great for a while, but sadly, the room flooded last year when we least expected it. After all the mess was cleared out, Kyle and I began to rethink ways the space could be used. Leesie has been begging for her own room for years and it just felt like the right time to say YES! e24fc04721
