Form Your Team
Create a team of four students. Each team member will complete their own learning tasks, but everyone will work together to create the script or text and the physical and chemical investigations for the multimedia presentation. At the end of this project, each member will complete a team member and self-evaluation indicating everyone's level of participation, collaboration, and communication.
Complete Independent Learning Tasks
It is important for each team member to learn about physical and chemical changes on their own before collaborating as a team. Select the Independent Learning Tasks navigation button below to view and complete the tasks before you get started on the presentation plan.
Develop a Plan
After each team member has completed the independent learning tasks, you are ready for team collaboration.
Review the rubric together and begin to develop an outline of the important differences between physical and chemical changes that you want to share in your presentation. Create this outline in Google Docs so everyone may provide input.
Decide on the physical and chemical changes investigations (one of each) that you will carry out. Two team members will be responsible for demonstrating each investigation.
Assign two team members to begin writing the script or text based on the outline. All team members are responsible for proofreading and editing. Assign the other two team members to gather the materials for the investigations.
Practice demonstrating the two investigations. Team members should provide constructive feedback to each other.
Decide on the multimedia format you will use to create your presentation. You may either use pictures or videos of your investigations. If photos are used, make sure you add text or audio to describe what you did and what happened. Possible formats:
Google Slides - tutorial video
iPad Video - tutorial video and tips
Adobe Spark - tutorial video
Swivl - tutorial video
As a team, assign roles needed for the presentation format you decided on. You may need photographers, editors, speakers, camera person, etc.
Create, Publish, and Evaluate
When your team is ready, create and publish your presentation!
Don't forget to include team members' names and what school you represent.
If you use any illustrations or pictures that were not your own, be sure to give credit to the person who does own them. Here is some information on copyright if you want to know more.
Each team member should upload and submit the final presentation in Google Classroom.
Each team member should download and complete a team member and self-evaluation. Submit this in Google Classroom also.
