Who Are We?
TMA is a group of parents and volunteers. We support all the musical endeavors and activities of the music programs in the Timberlane Regional School District.
New members can join as individuals or as a family/household. Being a member of the TMA has its perks, including the following: Voting rights at monthly meetings; scholarship opportunities; and access to earmarked trip funds maintained by the Association for their child/children to use for music department trips.
The Benefits of Music in Our Schools
The TMA that music education in schools provides numerous benefits, including the development of language, reasoning, and memorization skills, as well as improved hand-eye coordination and fine-tuned auditory abilities. It fosters a growth mindset, craftsmanship, and quality work, while also enhancing emotional development, empathy, self-esteem, and stress management. Music keeps students engaged, builds imagination and intellectual curiosity, and promotes discipline, collaboration, and responsible risk-taking. It prepares students for future success by developing creative thinking, spatial intelligence, and self-confidence, making them ready for a global economy that values creativity.
