are tryouts for Sky dancers and violet Belles the same?

- All candidates will be trying out for the program. During tryouts the directors will be evaluating you each day and decide where you will be placed ( Varsity - Sky Dancers, JV - Violet Belles, Cut.)

What is the difference between Sky dancers and violet belles?

- Sky Dancers are the Varsity Team (grades 9-12)

- Violet Belles are the JV Team (grades 9-12)

What Course/class do I need to register for with counselors for next year?

- All candidates need to register for Drill Team Prep

- IF you make a team Mrs. Harris will notify the Timber Creek Counselors and have you placed in the correct class period. (Varsity 1st period / JV 4th period)

- IF you do not make a team, you will be placed in Drill Team Prep to spend the next school year working on skills to prep you for following years tryout.

Is there set number that can make the team?

- No, we will take as many as we feel are at the level of our teams. When looking at our candidates our goal is that you are on a team that you can be successful, not ride the bench each performance.

Who selects the team?

- The Directors

can a male student tryout?

- Yes!

do the teams travel?

-Sky Dancers travel out of state every other year. This year we are going to Orlando! The other years we travel in state.

- Violet Belles do not travel out of the state.

how much does Drill Team / Dance team cost?

- The fees in the beginning are the most because you are needing to purchase all of your practice wear and team items.

- Sky Dancers first year 1,200-1,500

- Violet Belles first year 500-800

*Other fees for needed items will occur throughout the year

**We do provide fundraisers to help offset your cost

tryout daily schedule:

-Monday- Technique and Learn Jazz Dance

-Tuesday- Evaluations on Jazz Dance and Technique, Learn Military/Kick Dance

-Wednesday- Evaluations on Military/Kick and Technique

-Thursday- Evaluations on Jazz, Military/Kick and All Technique
