Teachers can use this database to:
- learn from seeing other teachers in action
- reflect and get feedback from teachers, teacher educators, and researchers
- choose to watch teachers of different personalities and styles, some of which may relate to teachers and learners of different ages, genders, geographic regions, socioeconomic statuses, ethnicities, and even times of day, and some of which may simply owe to individual differences (or just having a "good day" or "bad day")
- see different kinds of learning outcomes, and trace those outcomes to prior learning experience with a particular teacher
- tag videos with notes that allow anyone to find a particular section of video or other media by typing that tag
- promote discussion between teachers, teacher educators, and researchers

How codes are assigned:
Each collection is assigned a collection code, such as 2016CHJHRR. The collection code summarizes the title of the collection with the following information: year (2016) + target language (Chinese) + learner group (John Hanley), teacher (Reed Riggs). Database users can refer to individual collections by this short reference code, by the full collection title (here, "2016 CHINESE FOR JOHN HANLEY WITH REED RIGGS"), or by the webpage URL, depending on any formatting and audience needs.
