TikTok™ for PC - Video Reels provides access to TikTok content and additional viewing, downloading, and recording features in Chrome.
The extension does not collect personal information on developer-operated servers, sell user data, or include its own advertising or analytics trackers. However, certain features process information locally or communicate with third-party services as described below.
The extension stores viewing preferences on your device, including volume, mute settings, automatic scrolling, and interface preferences. It also stores browser-language preferences and an approximate country code derived from your browser settings, not GPS location.
To access TikTok features, the extension reads relevant TikTok cookies, session tokens, request information, and account identifiers. These allow it to work with your existing TikTok session. Temporary session information is stored in browser session storage or memory.
The extension processes the content needed to display feeds, searches, profiles, videos, and comments. Actions you initiate, such as posting a comment, liking content, following an account, or uploading a video, are sent to TikTok.
The extension does not request your TikTok password or maintain a separate extension account.
The extension communicates with the following services:
TikTok and its media services: Receive requests needed to load content and perform account actions. When you upload a video, your selected file and associated publishing information are transmitted to TikTok and its upload infrastructure.
TikWM: When a download requires this service, the extension sends the selected TikTok page URL and download-processing options to TikWM.
UI Avatars: When a profile image is unavailable or fails to load, the extension may request a replacement avatar. This request can include the displayed creator’s or commenter’s username.
These services may receive your IP address and standard connection information when your browser contacts them. Their processing and retention practices are governed by their respective privacy policies.
Optional donation and review links open external websites. Information you provide on those websites is handled by their operators.
Downloaded videos, music, and completed recordings are saved to your device.
Recording starts after you initiate it and select a sharing source through the browser. Depending on your selection, the recording may contain a browser tab, a window, or your screen, together with available audio. Avoid sharing a source that displays sensitive information.
Recording data is temporarily held in memory to create the downloadable file. The extension does not automatically upload recordings to developer-operated servers. The recording feature does not request microphone or camera access.
The extension uses browser permissions to save preferences, manage its viewer and related TikTok tabs, access TikTok session information, integrate controls into TikTok pages, support media requests, and manage downloads.
These permissions are used for the extension’s functionality, not to build advertising profiles or collect unrelated browsing history.
Local preferences remain until cleared or the extension is removed. Temporary session storage is cleared when the browser session ends. Downloaded files remain on your device until you delete them.
You can disable or uninstall the extension and manage its site access through Chrome. Removing the extension does not delete downloaded files, TikTok cookies, or content already submitted to TikTok. Manage those separately through your browser, device, or TikTok account.
Information accessed by the extension is used to provide its user-facing features. It is not sold, transferred to data brokers, or used by the developer for personalized advertising.
External service requests use HTTPS. Local information relies on Chrome’s storage and security mechanisms. No storage or transmission method can be guaranteed completely secure.
