Tigray Community of Windsor and Essex County (TCWEC) is a non profit, non political and non religious association established to create strong social network and cooperation among members and their families. It is devoted to provide a psychological and moral support to members and their families during unfortunate times. Another objective of the association is to assist African immigrants of Tigrayan decent in Windsor and Essex County by providing support services regarding their overall welfare, education, medical needs, housing, employment and human rights. The association works hard to support kids and youth stay in school and encourages advancements in education for successful future. It takes projects on culture, tradition and the Tigrinya language for knowledge transfer to the next generation. It is also creates recreational and fun events such as get-together parties, picnics and vacations for its members and their families. Currently the community is actively engaged in supporting humanitarian help to victims of genocide in the Tigray region.
