Biological Image Processing
Microglia are tissue resident macrophages in the brain. Recent studies have shown that studying the morphology of microglia can give us insight to neurological diseases and injury. Coupled TuFF-BFF is a 3D segmentation algorithm proposed for microglia segmentation.

Automata Processor and image classification
The Automata Processor is a novel, computational accelerator that can execute pattern matching applications in parallel. We explore multinary representation for use on an automata framework in order to apply image retrieval problems on this hardware.
