I work as an astrophysicist in the domain of high energies (phenomena related to neutron stars, stellar black holes and supermassive black holes). The artist name : Tidally Disrupted Star is a reference to what happens when a star comes too close from a supermassive black hole. The star is disrupted by the strong gravity field. Part of its matter is swallowed with a flash of light while the other part is ejected and will disseminate in the interstellar medium.
