Unemployment Crisis: Over 67% of Kenyan youth (15–35) are unemployed — the highest demographic unemployment rate in the country (Federation of Kenya Employers)
Informal & Unstructured Job Market: Most young people rely on word-of-mouth, social media, or informal networks to find jobs, which leads to:
Limited Digital Employment Platforms: Current job portals in Kenya mainly target formal or professional roles, leaving out the majority who need casual, part-time, gig, or on-demand work.
The Opportunity
Kenya has one of the most digitally savvy youth populations in Africa, largely driven by early adoption of mobile technologies. Kenya's pioneering Mobile Provider, Safaricom, is world reknown for its innovative digital ecosystem (including M-Pesa - a mobile phone based money transfer system), widespread smartphone penetration, and strong social media engagement.
This digital readiness makes young Kenyans highly capable of adopting and benefiting from technology-driven solutions—yet there remains no structured platform like Tich App that channels these digital skills into meaningful employment opportunities.
Tich App
Tich App provides a dedicated mobile-based HR platform that:
Connects youth directly with real, short-term, and gig-based work in both formal and informal sectors.
Organizes job discovery, allowing users to “see/be seen” and “find/be found” easily.
Builds trust through integrated ratings, referrals, and recommendations.
Incorporates AI to enhance matching accuracy, security, and credibility checks.
Empowers youth economically by increasing access to earning opportunities and helping them formalize their gig work.
Tich App is a mobile-based Human Resource platform that makes job discovery simple, transparent, and social — the “TikTok for jobs.” It connects young job seekers to short-term, gig, and entry-level work opportunities in real time. Through AI matching, user ratings, referrals, and in-app chat, Tich builds trust and visibility between job seekers and employers while formalizing informal work sectors.
Tich generates revenue through freemium and commission-based services — including premium job listings, skill-based verification badges, and in-app advertising for employers.
Target Audience:
Tich App targets urban Kenyan youths aged 15–34 seeking short-term or gig-based employment, and SMEs or households looking to hire reliable workers. Secondary users include NGOs, training institutions, and county governments supporting youth employment programs.
