Kim Petras keeps things Icy and takes the win.
After Jude Kelly gave New Zealand their second win (and the first consecutive wins) in the seventeenth edition with her song "Clarence", the contest stays in New Zealand for the fourth quarter of 2025.
At the conclusion of the grand final, Germany was announced as the winner with 358 points. This became the country's first contest win.
Big 6 Statistics
As the top 6 of the previous edition, Austria, Italy, New Zealand, Poland, Scotland, and Scotland are the newest Big 6 and will automatically qualify for the final. In terms of times in the Big 6, this is the first time that Austria and Poland have been a part of the Big 6. Scotland and New Zealand are in the Big 6 for second time, Italy for the third time, and South Korea for the fifth time.
Rose Takes Over
After Oriini Kaipara was elected to the New Zealand Parliament in September 2025, TVNZ was asked to find a replacement presenter. Luckily, it was announced that comedian, actress, and TV presenter Rose Matafeo would take over hosting duties for the eighteenth edition of the TiBB Music Festival.
TiBB Shapes Athena Purcell.
The TBU Reference Group on 21 July 2025 announced that the TiBB Music Festival would gain a Contest Director to take the weight of certain roles off of the current executive supervisor Delilah Crawford, as well as to oversee her role. In the announcement, the TBU revealed that the presenter of the 9th, 10th, and 14th editions, Athena Purcell would take on the role; due to her impeccable production of the TiBB+ Original drama series Fairlake.
Three New Debuts!
For the eighteenth edition, during the song selection period, it was announced that Botswana, Peru, and Tonga would debut at the contest.
We're Staying In Auckland
Though announced during the final of the previous edition, The TBU Reference Group on 26 July 2025 (the thread-posting day on the ThisIsBigBrother forums) revealed that Spark Arena would play host of the contest for a second consecutive time. Combined with the arena's location in downtown Auckland, the bustling cityscapes, and its proximity to nearby hotels and the airport, Auckland was again the prime choice for the contest's second outing to New Zealand. On 11, 16, 18 and 25 October, it will play host to the TiBB Music Festival once again.
2 Extra Qualifiers
Due to the number of countries participating, The TBU Reference Group announced on 15 September 2025 that there would be 2 more qualifiers from the Semi-Final. This means that a total of 16 countries would qualify, with a total of 22 countries performing in the Grand Final.
