Tianyi Wang

I am an Assistant Professor in the Department of Economics at the University of Toronto.  My current research centers on political economy and economic history, seeking to understand how media and communication technologies influence society and politics.  I also have broader interests in health and labor economics, in both historical and modern contexts.  

I am a Faculty Research Fellow at the National Bureau of Economic Research (NBER), an IZA Research Fellow, and serve on the editorial board of Explorations in Economic History.  I received my Ph.D. in economics from the University of Pittsburgh and my B.A. from Colgate University.
