My research has benefited from funding by the FCT and Francisco Manuel dos Santos Foundation, and I have carried out consultancy work for the national tax authority, the capital markets regulator, and other public agencies. I have also been among the group of economists consulted by both the Prime Minister and the President of the Republic on the economic impacts of the COVID-19 crisis and the design of recovery strategies. I currently serve on evaluation panels for research projects and doctoral scholarships for the Portuguese FCT and the Polish National Science Foundation, and I act as an evaluator for the Portuguese Agency for Assessment and Accreditation of Higher Education (A3ES) in the field of Economics. I have also been appointed member of the National Council for Science, Technology and Innovation. I teach Macroeconomics and Economic Growth at the University of Coimbra.
