Over the course of three months, my team Game Sweat & Tears have produced a psychological horror puzzle game called Insomnium. It is a game made for an assignment of a subject called Game Project Studio 1.
As the Project Manager, Character Artist, Animator, and UI Artist for Insomnium, I took on a multifaceted role that allowed me to shape the game in numerous ways. In my capacity as Project Manager, I oversaw the development timeline, ensuring that our team stayed on track while maintaining high standards of quality. My role as Character Artist involved creating visually compelling characters that not only fit the game's dark, psychological theme but also conveyed the emotional depth of the story. Through animation, I brought these characters to life, enhancing the narrative with carefully crafted movements that reflect their inner struggles.
Designing the UI was another significant responsibility, where I focused on ensuring that every interface element aligned with the game's eerie and unsettling atmosphere. The UI needed to be both intuitive and immersive, so I paid close attention to details that would enhance the player's experience without detracting from the game's mood.
Working on Insomnium was a deeply fulfilling experience for me. It allowed me to combine my creative skills with project management, resulting in a game that I'm incredibly proud of. The challenges of balancing multiple roles pushed me to grow both as an artist and a leader, and I believe the final product is a testament to our team's hard work and dedication. This project holds a special place in my portfolio, showcasing my ability to manage complex tasks while delivering a cohesive and emotionally resonant gaming experience.
