If you want a secure, over-ear fit with advanced noise cancellation for calls and a rugged build for intense workouts, choose Ti Cow TICOWTEK; if you need total situational awareness and a bone-conduction design that never blocks your ear canal, choose TANFESO open ear Earbuds. This isn't about which one has the fancier marketing fluff or which one might be cheaper on a random Tuesday; it is about matching the right hardware to your specific lifestyle needs, especially when you are looking for best bluetooth headphones for swimming or simply need gear that stays put while you move.
• Ti Cow TICOWTEK: Delivers a secure over-ear hook design with IP7 waterproofing and ENC noise cancellation for crystal-clear calls, but trades off ambient sound awareness due to its sealed acoustic approach. Best for runners who need to block out wind noise and focus on their music.
• TANFESO open ear Earbuds: Features an ultra-lightweight bone conduction driver with 60 hours of claimed playback and an open-ear design for maximum safety awareness, but lacks active noise cancellation and uses a different mounting style. Best for cyclists and outdoor enthusiasts who must hear traffic and surroundings.
The Ti Cow TICOWTEK SP16 is engineered for the person who views their audio device as a tool for performance and durability rather than just a fashion accessory. The defining feature here is the hanging-ear design paired with the robust Bluetooth 5.4 connectivity. Unlike traditional in-ear buds that sit deep inside the canal, these rest securely on the outer ear, a configuration that proves superior during high-intensity activities where sweat and motion are constant factors. This suggests a product built to handle the physical rigors of a gym session or a long run without feeling like a dead weight on your head.
One of the most critical differentiators in this model is the Environmental Noise Cancellation (ENC) system. With four built-in microphones working in concert, the SP16 is designed to isolate your voice from background chaos. If your primary use case involves taking work calls while jogging in a busy city or shouting instructions during a team sport, this is the machine you need. The IP7 nano-coating technology further cements its place as a workout companion, offering protection against liquids that would otherwise fry standard electronics. Whether you are caught in a sudden downpour or drenched in sweat after a sprint, the internal components remain safe, allowing you to push your limits without worrying about water damage.

However, this design does come with a specific trade-off regarding environmental awareness. Because the driver is dynamic and sits close to the ear, it naturally dampens outside noise more than an open-air alternative. While this is excellent for immersion in your playlist, it means you won't hear approaching cars or cyclists as clearly as you would with a true open-ear device. Furthermore, while the battery life is respectable at around 5 hours on a single charge with a total of 25 hours provided by the charging case, it falls short of the extreme endurance claims found in some other categories. You should buy this if you prioritize call clarity, waterproof durability, and a secure fit that survives intense movement. Skip it if your main concern is hearing every bird chirp or car horn while you exercise outdoors.
The TANFESO M100 represents a completely different philosophy, prioritizing safety and comfort through its bone conduction architecture. By utilizing a bone conduction driver instead of a traditional dynamic speaker, this device bypasses the ear canal entirely, sending vibrations directly through the cheekbones to the inner ear. The result is an audio experience that leaves your ears completely open to the world. This makes it the ideal choice for anyone who exercises in environments where situational awareness is non-negotiable, such as road running, cycling, or hiking near traffic.
Comfort is another pillar of the TANFESO design. Weighing in at a mere 0.18 ounces, these earbuds are featherlight, resting gently on the skull without applying pressure to the sensitive skin inside the ear canal. The soft silicone material and ergonomic surround are designed to accommodate various head shapes and even allow users to wear glasses simultaneously without the clashing discomfort often felt with bulkier headphones. The "open ear" concept also solves the issue of ear fatigue; because there is no seal created inside the ear, you can wear them for extended periods without the soreness that plagues many in-ear alternatives. Additionally, the massive 60-hour playback time claim suggests a battery capacity that could last through multiple days of heavy use before needing a recharge, a feature that eliminates the anxiety of a dead battery mid-workout.
Despite these strengths, the TANFESO M100 has limitations that buyers must accept. The lack of any noise control mechanism means you will hear everything around you, which is great for safety but bad for isolation. If you prefer to drown out the hum of an air conditioner or the noise of a subway train to focus on a podcast, this design will frustrate you. The touch controls, while described as intelligent, rely on a surface area that might be less precise than the dedicated buttons found on other models, requiring a bit of finesse to navigate. You should buy this if your priority is staying aware of your environment and wanting a lightweight, pressure-free fit. Skip it if you need deep bass response or require the ability to block out external noise to concentrate fully on your audio content.
• Best for Battery Life → TANFESO open ear Earbuds: With a claimed 60 hours of playback compared to the Ti Cow's 25 hours, the TANFESO wins decisively for long-duration usage without frequent recharging.
• Best for Call Quality in Noisy Environments → Ti Cow TICOWTEK: The four-mic ENC system on the Ti Cow actively rejects background noise, whereas the TANFESO relies solely on microphone pickup without active cancellation.
• Best for Situational Awareness → TANFESO open ear Earbuds: The bone conduction design ensures your ears remain open to traffic and surroundings, a critical safety feature for road sports that the sealed Ti Cow cannot match.
• Best for Waterproof Durability → Ti Cow TICOWTEK: Both are rated for water resistance, but the Ti Cow's IP7 rating specifically targets liquid protection for intense workouts and runs, making it slightly more robust for heavy sweating or rain.
• Best for Secure Fit During High Impact → Ti Cow TICOWTEK: The dual hanging ear design offers a mechanical lock that prevents slipping during vigorous jumping or sprinting better than the clip-on nature of the TANFESO.
• Best for Gaming or Low Latency → Ti Cow TICOWTEK: The description notes "low latency without interruption," which is crucial for syncing audio with video or games, a feature not explicitly detailed for the TANFESO model.
• Best for Glasses Wearers → TANFESO open ear Earbuds: The streamlined sinking design and lack of ear-canal intrusion make it easier to pair with eyewear without the friction points common in over-ear styles.
• Best Value for Travelers → TANFESO open ear Earbuds: The extended battery life and lightweight portability make it a superior companion for multi-day trips where charging opportunities are scarce.
I am recommending the Ti Cow TICOWTEK as my top pick for most people seeking reliable, high-performance audio gear for active lifestyles. While the TANFESO offers incredible battery life and safety features, the Ti Cow strikes a better balance between immersive sound quality, call clarity, and physical security. The inclusion of ENC noise cancellation and the IP7 waterproof rating makes it a more versatile tool for serious training sessions where you need to focus on your audio without distraction. However, if you are specifically looking for best gaming headphones for swimming or need absolute transparency to your environment, the TANFESO remains a strong contender. Ultimately, for the vast majority of users who want a solid all-around performer that handles sweat, calls, and movement with ease, the Ti Cow is the safer bet.
While both products are marketed as waterproof (IP7 for Ti Cow, IPX7 for TANFESO), neither is officially rated for submersion in deep water like professional swim caps. They are suitable for splashes, showers, and intense sweating, but you should verify specific depth ratings before using them underwater.
The TANFESO boasts a significantly higher battery life with a 60-hour claim, whereas the Ti Cow offers around 25 hours total with its charging case. If you travel frequently or forget to charge nightly, the TANFESO is the logical choice.
Yes, the TANFESO's bone conduction drivers produce less bass and lower volume compared to the dynamic drivers in the Ti Cow. If you love deep, thumping beats, the Ti Cow provides a richer audio experience.
For calls in windy or noisy areas, the Ti Cow TICOWTEK is superior due to its four-microphone ENC system. The TANFESO allows you to hear the caller clearly, but the caller may struggle to hear you over background noise without active cancellation.
