Sala Lauree, "Marconi" Building - Physics Department
Sapienza University of Rome, Rome, Italy
The Terahertz Sapienza Laboratory, directed by prof. Stefano Lupi, is composed by three facilities distributed on three sites in Italy. Their main research interests cover the use of THz and sub-THz radiation for spectroscopy and imaging, ranging from the study of novel functional materials like graphene and topological materials to the bio-imaging applications of THz-TDS.
Built in 1955, the National Laboratory of Frascati (LNF) were the first Italian research facility for the study of nuclear and subnuclear physics with accelerators and are the largest laboratory of the National Institute for Nuclear Physics (INFN), the public body whose mission is theoretical, experimental and technological research in subnuclear, nuclear and astroparticle physics.
The Institute of Scientific and Industrial Research (ISIR) was founded in 1939 as part of Osaka Imperial University, the precursor of Osaka University, as an institute that would promote fundamental science for the development of industry. Ever since, the ISIR has continually incorporated new research fields in order to flexibly meet the needs of the time.
The workshop will take place at the Sala Lauree room in the Marconi building, the main structure of the Department of Physics at La Sapienza, University of Rome. The Department of Physics is the natural heir of the tradition of Enrico Fermi, Ettore Majorana and Edoardo Amaldi (School of Rome), and is renowned throughout the world for high quality research, international prestige and the diversity of the courses offered.
The Marconi building can be reached from the main train station Termini through the bus 310. The nearest metro station is "Policlinico" of the B-line.
The Sala Lauree room is located at the first floor. During the workshop days indications to the room will be posted at the ground and first floor of the building.
