I have been fortunate enough to help crew on a couple of yachts.

A 23ft Hunter and a 27ft Hunter sailing waters as diverse as the Humber, the North Sea, the Solent and the Thames Estuary.

I even crewed while a friend took his Yachtmaster examination, in the middle of a February night on the river Thames.
