This is Fagan's

Fagan's is a bar in Sheffield that is renowned for the musicians that regularly play there. They play in what is called a "session" - the musicians generally don't rehearse together, but put it all together on the spot, on the night. Both songs and tunes, in all sorts of styles, can be played. From traditional right through to rock, taking in everything in-between.

I've played the Saturday night session for more than 25 years. This playlist is representative of the songs and tunes that get played. I hope you enjoy!

This is Rebels

Rebels was a rock night club in Sheffield that I frequented in the 80's and 90's. It was a tiny place - the entrance was on Dixon Lane. You walked up 7 flights of stairs to get in, and were met by a smell of alcohol, dry ice, perfume and people. The volume was usually deafening, too.

In hindsight, it was a complete dive, but it was of its time. The linked playlist is pretty indicative of the time.

Should probably be played loudly.
