Disassembling the vehicle to identify its mechanical, electrical, and structural subsystems.
Examining the 2.4 GHz control PCB, motor, wiring, LEDs, power connections, and drivetrain interface.
Separating the drivetrain, gears, wheels, chassis components, and electronics to understand their individual functions and relationships.
What I Learned
By completely disassembling, diagnosing, repairing, and reassembling a miniature 2.4GHz RC off-road vehicle, I gained hands-on experience in mechanical assemblies, steering mechanisms, drivetrain components, power delivery, and compact electronic systems. Through repeated assembly attempts and troubleshooting, I developed a deeper understanding of how miniature electromechanical systems operate as an integrated product.
Reverse engineering

Failure analysis — intentionally examining broken or worn components to understand why they failed instead of simply replacing them.
Key Insight
Complex systems become easier to repair when broken down into individual subsystems. Understanding the relationship between mechanical, electrical, and structural components enables faster diagnosis and more effective problem-solving.
Transferable Value
This project strengthened my ability to investigate unfamiliar products, identify mechanical and electrical faults, document component relationships, and systematically restore functionality. These skills directly translate to equipment maintenance, manufacturing, engineering support, quality assurance, product development, and technical troubleshooting.
