Terry Sanders

Terry Sanders received his degrees in Music Education and Computer and Information Science from Troy State University. He studied percussion under Dr. Samuel Frederick, while marching with the “Sound of the South” Trojan Band under the Direction of Dr. Johnny Long from 1980 to 1985. He also studied percussion privately with Sergeant Carl Griggs of the United States Marine Band. Terry was the Co-Percussion Caption Head and arranger for the Florida Wave Drum and Bugle Corps from 1980 - 81. Terry actively serves as a championship level adjudicator for fall marching competitions and indoor percussion and indoor winds competitions across the country. He is a currently an active Official WGI Percussion Judge.

Mr. Sanders currently serves on the WGI Diversity and Inclusion Committee. He has served many years on the WGI Percussion Advisory Board, most recently in 2016. He is a member of Phi Mu Alpha music fraternity and he is an active member of the Percussive Arts Society and currently serves on the PAS Marching Percussion Committee and the PAS Diversity Alliance. Mr. Sanders currently serves as the Program Coordinator and as a Music Ensemble consultant for Southwind Drum and Bugle Corps. Terry is currently an Educational Artist endorser for Innovative Percussion, the REMO Drum Head Company, Sabian Cymbals and the Pearl /Adams Drum Company. Mr. Sanders also operates and owns the Mic Check One Two One Two Virtual Percussion Judges Academy.

Tony Lymon

Tony is a distinguished Artistic Director, recognized for his expertise in show design within the marching arts. Currently serving as the Artistic Director for the Blue Knights Drum and Bugle Corps and Artistic Design/Sound Design for United Percussion (PIW), Tony also holds the role of creative designer for feniX Independent Winterguard (IW), ViP Percussion (PIW), UP2 Open (PIO), Vision Percussion (PIO), and Boswell HS (PSW). With extensive experience, Tony has made a lasting impression on the marching band and percussion community. Recently concluding a twenty-four-year tenure as founder and show designer for Petal Indoor Percussion Theatre (PSW), a WGI Percussion Scholastic World Class Finalist, he has also contributed significantly as the co-music arranger/show designer for the Petal High School marching band, guiding them to success on both regional and national platforms.

Tony's achievements include twice being honored as the Outstanding Junior High Director of the Southeast Mississippi Band Directors Association and receiving the prestigious 2008 Mississippi Bandmasters Association AE McClain Outstanding Young Band Director Award. Beyond local programs, he established and led the Eminence Indoor Percussion Ensemble, a WGI Open Class finalist and championship ensemble. Graduating with a Bachelor's degree in Music Education from the University of Southern Mississippi, Tony showcased his talent as a principal percussionist in esteemed ensembles. His drum corps journey began as a member of the front ensemble of the World Champion Star of

Indiana Drum and Bugle Corps from 1991 to 1993. Tony's creativity transcended conventional paths, leading him to a successful professional

performance career with the pop/rock band King Konga. The band's international tours and chart-topping success solidified Tony's versatility and skill.

In recent years, Tony's influence expanded to renowned drum corps such as Carolina Crown, The Madison Scouts, and Pacific Crest, where he contributed to design and creative teams, shaping memorable performances. Alongside his artistic endeavors, he owns Eidetic Creative, a multimedia design business.

Residing in Hattiesburg, Mississippi, Tony cherishes family life with his wife Emily and daughter Colette. His commitment to the art of show design continues to inspire and elevate performers and audiences alike, leaving a lasting impact on the marching arts community.

Joe Hobbs

Joe Hobbs is currently the Director of Percussion at Vandegrift High School in Austin, TX. Under his direction, the Drum Line has seen national recognition as well as national competitive success. The group won the Dripping Springs Drum Line Contest in 2016, 2017, and 2019, as well as the Lone Star Classic in 2018. The Vandegrift Drum Line was also invited to perform at the 2019 Percussive Arts Society International Convention (PASIC) in Indianapolis as a featured clinician. The Vandegrift Percussion Ensemble was also selected to perform at the Midwest Band and Orchestra Clinic in Chicago in both 2017 and 2024.


The band program at Vandegrift High has received National recognition since their opening in 2009. They were selected as the TMEA Honor band in 2018 and were selected to perform at the prestigious Midwest Band and orchestra clinic in 2021. The group also recently received both the Sudler Shield and Sudler Flag in 2020. The band will also perform in the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade in 2022. Vandegrift was named the BOA Grand National Marching Band Champion in 2019 as well as the Texas 6A Marching Band State Champions in both 2022 and 2023.


Aside from his work with Vandegrift, Mr. Hobbs is on the percussion staff for the Bluecoats Drum and Bugle Corps. He has held this position since 2019. He previously served as the Percussion Caption Head for The Cavaliers Drum and Bugle Corps from 2015-2018. Before joining The Cavaliers, Mr. Hobbs served on the percussion staff for the Phantom Regiment Drum and Bugle Corps and the Spirit of Atlanta Drum and Bugle Corps. He was also involved with Music City Mystique as a Battery Instructor from 2009-2011.


His marching career began with Southwind Drum and Bugle Corps from 2001-2003. During his time at Southwind, he was named the 2003 DCI I&E Snare Drum Champion. From 2004-2006he was a member of The Cavaliers snare line. During his time with The Cavaliers, Mr. Hobbs won two DCI World Championships, 2006 DCI I&E Mixed Ensemble Championship, “Cavalier of the Year” and the “Zildjian Award” in 2006.


Mr. Hobbs received his Music Education degree from Murray State University in Murray, Kentucky. He is endorsed by Pearl Drums, Innovative Percussion, Sabian Cymbals and Evans Drumheads. He currently lives in Austin, TX with his wife, Kara, and their daughter, Nina.

Sandi Rennick

Sandi Rennick is a percussionist and marimba soloist with extensive performing and teaching experience in the DFW area and throughout the United States. An original cast member of the Tony and Emmy Award-winning production “Blast!”, Sandi performed in London, England, as well as a featured marimba soloist on tour throughout the United States. Sandi is currently a percussion arranger for the Santa Clara Vanguard Drum and Bugle Corps (2011-present), and the Troopers Drum and Bugle Corps (2013-present).


Sandi has teaching and arranging experience with a variety of groups at all levels, including the UNT Green Brigade Marching Band, Drum Corps Japan

Champions Yokohama Scouts, and Drum Corps International champions Phantom Regiment Drum & Bugle Corps (2003-2010) and Carolina Crown (1998-2004).


A member of the Percussive Arts Society since 1995, Sandi served on the PAS Marching Committee for 13 years, and was elected to the PAS Board of Advisors in 2019.

Sandi is an Adjunct Professor of Percussion at the University of North Texas and Texas A&M University-Commerce. In addition to her drum corps responsibilities in the summer, she also serves on the faculty of the UNT Keyboard Percussion Workshop, and is a clinician for the Girls March music and leadership camps.


Sandi is a Signature Artist for Innovative Percussion, Inc., and a clinician/artist for Dynasty USA, Remo Drumheads, and SABIAN / Gon Bops Percussion.
