Colorado has many parks of all kinds throughout the state, but out of all of them, Alderfer/Three sisters matters the most to me. I grew up in the area, and when I was a kid my dad would take me here all the time to hike around, and have fun, plus, it's also the first ever park I went climbing outside at, so when I heard I had to make a journal on a park, this spot instantly popped into my mind.
Three Sisters is pretty large park located up in Jefferson County, it spans just over 1100 acres of land, and over 15 miles of trails to explore, it is one of the most commonly used parks, and it has the highest trail to land ratio in the county. None of them are difficult, nothing anyone who is even a little in shape would have to prepare for. Due to that fact, It is a very popular spot that many people of all kinds come to, I went early in the morning, and I saw people ranging from probably around 5 - 70 years old.
Up in Jefferson County, it is a see of Ponderosa pines as far as the eye can see with a couple of Aspen trees and Douglas-Fir trees here and there to give it some diversity. It is not clear from this picture, but you can clearly see many of the other trails people go on from that vantage point. Most people just walk them, but its also a very popular moutain biking spot, though, no difficult routes are here.
I took a shorter path today, only around .7 mile round trip. I went up to Brothers Outlook, a nice spot to look out at Evergreen from. From this vantage point, you get a good view of Evergreen Highschool, I didnt go there, but my school was very, very close by, so I had many acquaintances that did.
Overall, I really enjoyed my time there, and I cant wait to go back and start climbing some of the routes.
