How We Research
We compare products from their published specs and features; the verdicts below are our independent editorial opinions.
If you want a pair of everyday wireless earbuds with active noise cancelling, a touchscreen charging case and a stack of built-in EQ modes, choose THREE PEACHES Earbuds; if you need open-ear, fully waterproof headphones you can wear while actually swimming, choose FJX Bone Conduction Headphones.
• THREE PEACHES Earbuds — biggest strength: active noise cancelling plus a 2.01-inch full-colour touchscreen case that controls music, EQ, calls, wallpapers and a "find my earbuds" alarm. In my opinion, no other pick at this level gives you that much on-device control.
• THREE PEACHES Earbuds — biggest trade-off: IPX4 water resistance only. That is splash-and-sweat protection, not swim protection, and the 5-hour-per-charge figure means you rely on the case for longer days.
• FJX Bone Conduction Headphones — biggest strength: IP68 waterproofing plus 32 GB of built-in memory, so you can swim with music in MP3 mode without carrying a phone at all.
• FJX Bone Conduction Headphones — biggest trade-off: no noise cancelling and an open-ear design that deliberately lets the world in. Underwater, Bluetooth will not work — you must switch to MP3 mode.
• Who each is for: THREE PEACHES for commuting, calls, gym sessions and quiet listening; FJX for swimmers, runners and cyclists who want their ears free and their music on board.
The THREE PEACHES Earbuds are built around control. The charging case is the headline: a 2.01-inch full-colour LCD touchscreen that handles MP3 playback, a sound equalizer, brightness adjustment, message reminders, wallpaper switching, voice assistant access, call answering and a "find earbuds" alarm that makes the buds ring. You can turn the whole thing on with one tap. That is a genuinely unusual amount of function packed into a case, and it means you can adjust a lot without ever pulling out your phone.
Audio-wise you get both ANC and ENC, so the earbuds cut background noise for your music and also work on the microphone side for calls. Bluetooth 5.4 is the newest version in this comparison, with a 10-metre range. The driver is a balanced armature type with a 32-ohm impedance and a 20 Hz–20,000 Hz frequency range, and there are seven EQ presets — standard, rock, pop, classical, DJ, disco and jazz — switchable with one tap. Battery life is quoted at 5 hours per charge with the case providing an additional charge, and an LED display in the case shows remaining power in real time. A full charge takes about 1 hour.
Who should buy it? Anyone who wants active noise cancelling, voice control, touch controls and call clarity in one package — commuters, office workers, students, and people who take a lot of calls. The full in-ear shape with rounded silicone tips is described as suitable for smaller ear canals, so if standard buds tend to feel loose, that design note matters. IPX4 covers sweat and light rain, so running, working out and walking are all fine.
Who should skip it? Swimmers. IPX4 will not survive being submerged, and there is no built-in memory — you need a connected device for audio. If your priority is open-ear awareness for road cycling or pool laps, this is the wrong tool.
The FJX pair solves a completely different problem. These are bone conduction headphones, which means they sit outside your ear canal and send vibrations through your cheekbones to your inner ear. Nothing goes inside your ear. You stay fully aware of traffic, other people and whatever is happening around you — which is exactly the point for outdoor training.
The build is titanium and the whole headset weighs 29 grams, so all-day wear is realistic and there is no ear-swelling problem from plugging your canals. The headline spec is IP68: fully dust-proof and waterproof, rated to handle rain, swimming, snorkelling, fishing and boating without coming off. The other headline spec is the 32 GB of built-in storage. That turns the headphones into a standalone MP3 player. You load tracks over the USB cable, switch to MP3 mode with a double-tap, and swim with music and no phone anywhere near the water. FJX is explicit about this: Bluetooth signals do not travel well underwater, so do not use Bluetooth mode while swimming — local playback is the correct mode.
When you are out of the water, Bluetooth 5.3 pairs with iOS and Android phones, tablets, Macs, PCs and laptops. A triple-tap calls up a voice assistant. Battery is quoted at 4 hours of average life with a 1.5-hour charge time, and the package includes two special earbuds, a fabric carry bag, an elastic band and a manual. FJX also offers a 2-year after-sales service commitment.
Who should buy it? Swimmers first and foremost. Also runners, cyclists and hikers who want situational awareness, and anyone who hates the feeling of something jammed in their ear. The 32 GB of storage makes it a great pick for people who want to leave the phone at home.
Who should skip it? Anyone who wants to block out the world. There is no noise control at all here, and by design you hear everything around you. If you want ANC for a noisy train or open-plan office, this is not your product. The 4-hour battery is also shorter than the THREE PEACHES figure, and there is no charging case to extend it.
• Best for noise cancelling → THREE PEACHES Earbuds. Active Noise Cancellation plus ENC for calls. The FJX has no noise control at all.
• Best for swimming → FJX Bone Conduction Headphones. IP68 is the only rating here that survives being submerged.
• Best for battery life per charge → THREE PEACHES Earbuds. 5 hours versus 4, and the case adds a further charge on top.
• Best for phone-free listening → FJX Bone Conduction Headphones. 32 GB of built-in memory means no device required.
• Best for situational awareness → FJX Bone Conduction Headphones. Open-ear design keeps traffic and surroundings audible.
• Best for calls and voice control → THREE PEACHES Earbuds. Voice control, touch control, message reminders and a 2.01-inch touchscreen case.
• Best for sound customisation → THREE PEACHES Earbuds. Seven EQ presets on tap, versus no equalizer on the FJX.
• Best for sweaty indoor workouts and gym use → THREE PEACHES Earbuds. IPX4 handles sweat and light rain, and the in-ear fit stays put.
• Best for all-day comfort with nothing in your ear → FJX Bone Conduction Headphones. 29 grams of titanium, no ear-canal pressure.
If I were buying one of these for myself, it would be the FJX Bone Conduction Headphones — but only because swimming and open-ear outdoor training are the use cases I care most about, and IP68 plus 32 GB of onboard memory is a combination the THREE PEACHES simply cannot match. If your life is commuting, calls and quiet listening rather than laps in a pool, I would go the other way and take the THREE PEACHES Earbuds for the noise cancelling, the touchscreen case and the EQ control. In my opinion these two barely compete — they solve opposite problems, so pick the problem you actually have. Check the current price on Amazon before you commit to either.
FJX, without question. The FJX carries an IP68 waterproof rating and is designed for swimming, snorkelling and boating. The THREE PEACHES Earbuds are IPX4, which covers sweat and splashes but not submersion. Remember to switch the FJX to MP3 mode in the water, since Bluetooth does not transmit well underwater.
No. The spec sheet lists noise control as "None." Bone conduction is open-ear by design, so you hear your surroundings on purpose. If you want active noise cancelling, the THREE PEACHES Earbuds are the pick — they list Active Noise Cancellation plus ENC for calls.
Yes. The FJX has 32 GB of built-in memory and works as a standalone MP3 player. You load songs over the included USB cable and double-tap to switch modes. The THREE PEACHES Earbuds have no built-in storage, so they need a connected Bluetooth device for audio.
The THREE PEACHES Earbuds are quoted at 5 hours per charge with the case providing one additional charge, and a 1-hour charge time. The FJX is quoted at 4 hours of average life with a 1.5-hour charge time and no charging case. For long days away from a socket, the THREE PEACHES setup gives you more headroom.
