Three Little Kittens is based on the nursery rhyme by the same name. The play begins with the prologue in the lobby, then the kittens welcome the audience into the performance space. There will not be an intermission. This show is part of the NCT Snuggery and is designed to be immersive and interactive for children and families.

sorry - it's been a crazy busy week (felt like Friday since Tuesday) I used a thin sharpie to do the details on the kitten and some colored sharpies for their noses and bows. I cut out the shape of the kittens and then taped the pattern of the kitten to a sunny window so I could trace the details, the kittens aren't actually felt, they are pieces of white flannel. Probably should have included all that in my description :)

Me: From what I remember you saying last summer at your Confratute appearance, I understand your illustration methods have changed a little bit in recent years. Can you tell us about that? What does your illustration process look like now?

One thing I notice about nursery rhymes is that many of them tend to be of counting-down genre similar to "99 Bottles of Beer on the Wall"...Five little monkeys jumping on the bed, three little angels all dressed in white... But shorter, for the shorter attention span of little children. And minus the alcohol. Still, looking at these songs today, I think that maybe teachers of preschool and kindergarten were desperate to find ways to kill time.

According to the nursery rhyme, the mother seems prone to mood swings and is unfamiliar with the concept of unconditional love. Couple that with her seemingly arbitrary rules regarding pie-eating etiquette, and it's hard to foresee a future for these kittens that does NOT involve intensive therapy.

In this traditional tale, the three little kittens lose their mittens, find their mittens, soil their mittens, and finally wash their mittens. (All Story Folders include a story script in English and Spanish and magnetic storytelling props.)

But I had to be realistic- I am a working aunt, and despite wanting to go home early, I had work to finish and a restaurant to manage. So I came home to a cranky (but still very cute) little babby! (At least she was still awake.)

is a Quaker take on an old nursery rhyme. You'll find the kittens trying to explain the situation to Mom Cat and six mittens hidden among the motifs. And for those who want to argue semantics about their four paws each, there are an additional six mittens in the border. After the mittens are found, you can all enjoy the pie.

"Three little kittens lost their mittens and they began to cry...." and so the story goes. Our puzzle is filled with unique pieces that recreate the story of the Three Little Kittens as your child completes the cover image from the 1930s era game created by Parker Brothers.
