The Thousand Smiles Foundation has many volunteer-ready roles. Speaking Spanish or practicing medicine are NOT prerequisites. No matter what you bring, there is an opportunity for you.
For our JSerra students who are in the Medical Magnet program, recently spotlighted in the Orange County Catholic, students have plenty of opportunities to give medical service in the field they feel passion. They receive hands-on experience from clinical and past-clinical professors at prestigious schools like UCLA and UCSD.
Service is at the highest degree when we provide an outlet for our unique talents.
Thousand Smiles Foundation, Ensenada, Baja California
Our talented surgeons from all over California meet in this one place to give one child incredible care.
You're peering through the window of an Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery or OMFS. The gracious surgeons allowed our Medical Magnet member, Ava Zell, to stand in on the surgery.
Medical Magnet Student
"As a Senior in the Medical Magnet Program, I've seen many surgical proceudures. However, my experience at the Thousand Smiles Clinic in Ensenada was like no other. I was fortunate enough to observe the OMFS Rotarians pour their time and expertise into repairing a beautiful little girl's cleft lip. As I watched the surgeon carefully piece her lip together, I witnessed her life change forever--at no expense. Even as high school students, we can help the dentists and surgeons see more patients and witness more lives change."
