Privacy Policy for Thoth
Effective date: 12 September 2026
Thoth is an Ancient Egyptian themed crossword game made by Vuur Studio. This policy explains what information the game uses and what happens to it.
The short version
Thoth does not collect, store or share any personal information. Everything the game remembers stays on your own device.
What the game stores on your device
To save your progress, Thoth keeps a small file on your phone. It holds things like the levels you have completed, your gold, your settings and any puzzle you have left unfinished. This file never leaves your device. We cannot see it, and it is deleted if you uninstall the game.
What the game does not do
Thoth has no accounts and no sign-in. Apart from checking a purchase with Google Play or the App Store, it does not connect to the internet. It contains no advertising and no analytics or tracking tools. It does not collect your name, email address, location, contacts, photos or device identifiers.
Device features the game uses
Thoth reads your device's clock and date to show the day's puzzle, the Egyptian calendar and the phase of the moon, and to switch between day and night. On the home screen it reads your phone's motion sensor so the sky tilts as you move. None of this is recorded or sent anywhere.
Purchases
If you buy the full game, the purchase is handled entirely by Google Play or the Apple App Store. Your payment details go to them, not to us. The game is only told that the purchase was made, so that it can unlock. Their own privacy policies cover the payment itself.
Contacting us
If you contact us for help, through the support form in the game or by email, we receive whatever you choose to send, such as your email address and a description of the problem. We use it only to help you, and we do not share it. The support form is hosted by Google Forms.
Children
Thoth is not directed at children under 13. It collects no personal information from anyone, of any age.
Your rights
Because we hold no personal information about you, there is nothing for us to access, correct or delete on your behalf. If you have written to us and want those emails deleted, ask and we will do it. These rights are set out in South Africa's Protection of Personal Information Act and, for players in Europe, the General Data Protection Regulation.
Changes to this policy
If the game ever starts using information differently, we will update this page and change the date at the top.
