PAC Meeting - 9/18

1.      Introductions

a.      Looking for additional class liaisons to help promote PAC events

b.      Always looking for volunteers

2.      Treasurer Update

a.      Treats for Tigers (raised $7,000 out of a goal of $8,000)

1.     Trending ahead

2.     Proceeds go towards treats and future cultural enrichment programs

b.      Birthday Cart (raised $900 out of a goal of $3,500)

1.     Monthly visit at special school store

2.     $25 per birthday kid, get special birthday goodie bag and each student in class gets an item

c.       Mums Sale (raised $500)

d.      Food Truck Night (TBD on final amount raised, but goal was $600)

3.      Upcoming Events

a.      Thorpe Night at Fenway (9/26)

b.      School Store

1.     First Friday of the month

2.     7:45-8:15 before school

c.       Thorpe Gear Sale (10/20-11/2)

d.      Trunk or Treat/Halloween Party (10/17)

e.      5th Grade Project Adventure (10/10)

4.      5th Grade Committee

a.      Meghan Prentice is the liaison and Kelly Pappagianapolis and Lindsay Sugar are the co-chairs

b.      Many roles and opportunities to volunteer are available

5.      Schoolwide Science Fair

a.      11/2

b.      Students can work in small groups or solo.

c.       Presentation vetted and approved by Mrs. Cook.  Present their experiments/poster as an in-school assembly and an evening presentation for families

6.      Thorpe Turkey Trot

a.      Tuesday before Thanksgiving (11/25)

b.      Fundraising launching 11/3 with individual goals and schoolwide incentives and goals

c.       $20,000 towards cultural enrichment and stage revitalization
