People always ask me what the heck is up with that name.
Its a frequency sweep spelled out.
I like how it looks in print.
putting a fast envelope on an LFO to modulate the pitch yields alot of fun sounds such as:
lasers, bird chirps, dub sirens
808 kicks
frequency sweeps played through systems can be recorded an analyzed to create impulse responses and devolved to replicate the entire signal chain (except for the non-liniarities). Its common for audio engineers to use sweeps to check for acoustic resonances that build up or cancel out from the rooms acoustic profile.
When playing bass one time I first noticed that the low G was rattling the pipes. It was something I never really considered before that when improvising I was thinking about scales modes, harmony rhythm but after that It made me think of how the notes breathed reflecting off the concrete on the walls. Id avoid some notes if the rattle got too annoying or try to use it to effect. I think everybody can benefit from trying to take a holistic approach to their sound.
not super into the name these days but haven't thought of anything that really stood out to me.
I still like how it looks. I think it sounds silly (but I still like how it looks in print). I hate explaining it to people. I want to start fresh with a new name. new everything. But at the same time I like having a place that I came from so I don't want to burn everything and start over.
