All men by nature wonder, and thus desire to know about the nature and causes of things. This pursuit of a wisdom which probes the secrets of creation, man has since forever called Philosophy.
Oftentimes too, this wonder of the created world, cultivated in a systematic and disciplined way, leads naturally to knowledge of the divine, a science known as Sacred Doctrine, or Theology.
This course provides a ground-up overview of the topics, concepts, and themes, that provide those curious with a solid grounding of philosophy in the Aristotelian-Scholastic tradition, specifically in the mind of St. Thomas Aquinas, either to pursue further study in philosophy, or with a view to delve into topics in theology with competence.
You are not assumed to have a background in philosophy or theology.
