Thomas sagers

Composition, Piano, and Voice (Bass)

Thomas Sagers (b. 2001) is a senior Music major at Linfield University focusing on composition and voice (bass). Music-making and performance have been an important part of his life since childhood, with studies focused in piano, composition, beat-making, and voice. Thomas sings bass with the Linfield Concert Choir and the Wildcat Men's Glee Club; he studies voice privately with Dr. Anton Belov and Richard Zeller, and composition with Dr. Andrea Reinkemeyer and Dr. Justin Ralls.

Sagers' compositions are heavily influenced by the rich harmonic palate of the Romantic-era piano repertoire and the transcendent sound of Russian sacred choral music focused on communal worship; he is also drawn to the immense depth of the oktavists, who double the bass line at the octave.
