In 2017, I participated in the Rutgers Robert Wood Johnson Medical School MedTalks, bringing lessons from a Mississippi classroom to patient encounters. 

In 2018, I presented with my co-champion Rick Lang at the American Hospital Association Monthly Webinar on TeamSTEPPS. TeamSTEPPS is an evidence-based set of teamwork tools, aimed at optimizing patient outcomes by improving communication and teamwork skills among healthcare teams. I co-led the implementation at Rutgers and am a Master Trainer. 

The cover story of the Summer 2019 issue of Robert Wood Johnson Medicine and the November 2019 issue of Rutgers Today featured TeamSTEPPS, which is now a part of RWJMS physicianship curriculum and part of hospital patient safety protocol.

In 2022, I published The Weight of Our Words: How Medical Communication Perpetuates Bias in Pediatrics with Sonia Taneja and Bob Vinci. We also published a video abstract.
