Research

My research is centered around an exploration of the motivational and epistemological challenges inherent in the provision of national defense, particularly within the institutional structure of the modern military-industrial complex. In total, my research addresses the complex relationship that has developed between industry, the military, and the political realm and the economic logic behind the distortive and pervasive nature of that relationship. The issues surrounding the entanglement of industry, the Departments of Defense and Homeland Security, and Congress are analyzed through the lens of public choice, institutional economics and market process theory.
