I am Thomas Argaw, a Ph.D. graduate in Economics from the University of Aberdeen, Scotland, UK. My research interests lie at the intersection of food and nutrition security, climate shocks and informal businesses, and discrete choice experiments applied to environmental services and health.
I have served as a Postdoctoral Research Associate on the Food Security for Equitable Futures project at Lancaster University (UK) and bring solid teaching and research experience from my tenure in Ethiopian higher education institutions. My academic journey in Ethiopia shaped a strong foundation in research ethics and a deep understanding of the socio-economic realities faced by smallholder farmers.
This experience has inspired my dedication to research areas aimed at improving smallholder livelihoods, including food and nutrition security, agricultural markets, post-harvest technology adoption, soil and water conservation, and the management of exclosure areas.
Outside academia, I am a self-taught photographer. I carry my semi-professional gear during my travels to capture natural moments and document them on a dedicated photography page. I invite you to explore and enjoy my visual journey.
