I am a research economist at Statistics Norway, where I currently lead the Research Unit for Macroeconomics and the Business Cycle Analysis project (Konjunkturtendensene), which produces regular forecasts for the Norwegian economy and its main trading partners.
My main research interests include macroeconomic modelling, index theory, productivity measurement, econometrics, business cycles, and macroeconomics more broadly.
I have served on several national expert panels and committees advising Norwegian authorities on economic and fiscal matters. Since 2018, I have been a member of the Advisory Panel on Fiscal Policy Analysis, advising the Ministry of Finance on fiscal sustainability and macroeconomic modeling. I have also served, since 2018, as a secretariat member of the Norwegian Technical Calculation Committee for Wage Settlements (TBU). In 2023, I was part of the secretariat for the Wage Leader Model Committee. Between 2020 and 2022, I served on expert groups appointed by the Norwegian Directorate of Health to evaluate the socio-economic costs and benefits of Covid-19 infection control measures.
