I am a research economist at Statistics Norway, where I lead the Business Cycle Analysis project, producing regular forecasts for the Norwegian economy and its main trading partners.
My research interests include macroeconomic modelling, index theory, productivity measurement, econometrics, and macroeconomics more broadly.
I currently chair the government-appointed Labour Immigration Committee, which is reviewing Norway’s labour immigration policy and assessing the need for changes. Since 2018, I have been a member of the Advisory Panel on Fiscal Policy Analysis, advising the Ministry of Finance on fiscal sustainability and macroeconomic modelling, and a secretariat member of the Norwegian Technical Calculation Committee for Wage Settlements. In 2023, I was part of the secretariat for the Wage Leader Model Committee. Between 2020 and 2022, I served on expert groups appointed by the Norwegian Directorate of Health to evaluate the socio-economic costs and benefits of Covid-19 infection control measures.
