Thomas Hübner

I am a doctoral student at ETH Zürich, supervised by Gabriela Hug and Daniel Kuhn.

I am broadly interested in mathematical optimization and its applications in renewable energy systems. My doctoral research focuses on optimization problems in electricity auctions. 

I obtained an MSc in Operational Research from the School of Mathematics at the University of Edinburgh. From February to July 2025, I was a visiting researcher at the Chair of Risk Analytics and Optimization, led by Daniel Kuhn, at EPFL. From September 2025 to February 2026, I will be visiting the Economics Department and Nuffield College at the University of Oxford, hosted by Elizabeth Baldwin and Paul Klemperer.
