Below are some examples of my teaching over video format for the class APEC 1201: Applications of Microsoft Excel for Economics and Management. This course was taught asynchronously to a class of over 160 students. The goal of this class was to teach basic proficiency with Excel for data management and basic quantitative analysis. This class was offered entirely asynchronously, to allow any students with a stable internet connection to take the class.
The objective of this first video was to provide students with a technical explanation of an inconsistency in the order of operations in Excel, demonstrate the issues that may rise from that inconsistency, and provide a tip on how avoid it. This video was made using OBS for screen capture, Davinci Resolve for video editing, and Izotope Elements for audio editing.
The objective of this second video was to illustrate a key concept of data visualization - data may exhibit patterns that are difficult to communicate with summary figures alone. This was made with Screencast-o-matic for both capture and video editing, and Audacity for audio editing.
