Based on a true historical event, a well known 18th century author decides to follow the tenents of the French philosopher, Jean Jacques Rousseau to create the "perfect wife." His daring experiment  explores the issues of education, civic responsibility, individual liberty, love and fate. The action of this play teeters back and forth between uproarious comedy and unsettling commentary.  Thomas Doyle's School for Wives  offers slap-stick humor and social commentary for today's audiences.
