CURSE OF VENGEANCE

"What a wonderful night to have a curse..."

Inspired by the gothic video game platform adventures of yesteryear, as well as other horror action themes, Curse of Vengeance takes you on the journey of the ancient monsters of Transylvania fighting back against the hunters who have antagonized their kind for generations. After the fall of Dracula and other nightmarish icons, these creatures of the night have faded into near obscurity, biding their time for their return. Curse of Vengeance is a Tabletop Roleplaying Game (TTRPG) that involves a combination of journaling, game mechanics, roleplay, and group storytelling.

Content Warning: While no overly graphic descriptions or imagery are included, the theme may spark ideas and stories that are not suitable for all ages. Please use safety tools and communicate openly to ensure everyone at the table, of all ages, is comfortable with any elements of horror you bring to the game.

Game Summary

  1. Create a character, choosing its form, damage, pet, & minion. Each has a type, which should be noted for combat. None have any advantage over another and should be chosen for personal preference.

  2. Develop a character backstory by journaling or roleplaying with others. A series of prompts will help get you started.

  3. Set up the Hunt, where you will spend one week seeking Vengeance. A standard deck of playing cards will serve as an oracle to shape seven nights for each player.

  4. Play out the week, journaling and/or roleplaying each night using a deck of cards as an oracle and a d10 to resolve any combat. At the end of the week, collectively face a final battle.

  5. Journal or roleplay a reflection on what your character experienced and what is to come in the future.

An original game for 1-7 players.

Files Included:

  • Full color game including character sheet and journaling page

  • Full game in plain text for accessibility and printing

CURSED CONFECTIONS

A Caltrop Core Game of Delicious Fright

In Cursed Confections, you are stuck in a (nearly?) abandoned candy factory, where chocolates and sweets of all kinds were once produced, and once made many people very happy in their consumption.

Something happened, however. Something terrible that drove the happy candy maker to abandon the factory. Some say his spirit still haunts what's left of the structure.

But never mind that. Who wants to think of such things when you are absolutely stuck in a dark, ominous factory, where the shadows seem to move on their own, mysterious sounds shriek in the distance, every surface remains highly sticky to the tough, and the smell of burnt sugar unnerves your nostrils?

You and your friends must find a way out... before... well, before something terrible happens to you too.

Content Warning: While no overly graphic descriptions or imagery are included, the theme may spark ideas and stories that are not suitable for all ages. Please use safety tools and communicate openly to ensure everyone at the table, of all ages, is comfortable with any elements of horror you bring to the game.

A Caltrop Core tabletop role-playing game for 2-5 players.

Includes a recipe for "Candy Glass" which can be used as game tokens!

Files Included:

  • Full color game including character sheet

  • Full game and character sheet in plain text for accessibility and printing

KEEP FLYING

Embark on a journey. Evade your enemies. Engineer a solution.

In Keep Flying, you are voyaging aboard one of the most highly sought after airships in the world.

The Captain flies with the greatest and best of their abilities - pilots, engineers, ambassadors, mercenaries - all dedicated to the preservation of the advanced technologies developed aboard the ship, as well as their own ambitions.

One player will take on the role of Captain and moderate the storytelling and gameplay of the session. In multiple session campaigns, this role can be shared, swapped, or rotated as desired, or one individual can manage from start to finish.

The remaining players will build a unique character, whether a valued crew member or an esteemed guest on the voyage. Together, all involved will tell a harrowing tale of embarking on a journey, evading enemies, and engineering solutions to any problems along the way.

The default setting involves an alternative near future of our own world, where a past relying on steam-power has evolved to advanced plasma technology. The jump forward has come with many costs, as abundant energy has led to advancements in travel, weaponry, and many aspects of daily life. Without control over energy, however, many have sought to gain more control through finance and aggression through a rampant corporate capitalist fueling of a global military industrial complex.

This society has been torn asunder by conflict and greed, yet your ship stands as a beacon to building a better future through cooperation and ingenuity. In this world, traditional sovereign governments have been replaced by large continental coalitions, akin to vast corporate empires. You’ll find much more about the setting in the Captain’s Log below.

This game, however, is designed to be implemented within any setting of your choice in order to build a world that suits you, where a group of traveling specialists can overcome the obstacles they face.

The 2021 Gregarious Goblin Gift Exchange (#GGGE)

After so much support and encouragement shows to me by the tabletop rpg community, I decided I wanted to give something back for the holiday season.

Hence the Gregarious Goblin Gift Exchange was born. In essence, it acts as a 'Secret Santa' game, where you are matched secretly to a fellow twitter user, and another is matched with you. You spend some time looking at your secret match's profile to determine their interests, then you spend an hour or two creating something for them. Maybe a sketch, maybe a poem, maybe a custom monster. Could be anything. Here are the details as presented on twitter.

Bethrazi

(Available Now at DMsGuild!)

Create your own character of this custom playable race for 5E.

The Bethrazi are a forest-dwelling, nature-loving, adventure-admiring, armor-covered group isolated to a single large forest in the Forgotten Realms.

The particular environment where they mature helps to shape their natural armor, as each develops thick fur, scales, or feathers. Though such differences in armored covering are stark, the species can be recognized by the large antlers that grow from their heads.

This document details the appearance, behavior, and abilities of this magnificent population. In it you'll find:

  • 7 full color pages

  • Detailed description of traits and abilities

  • Cultural notes on naming and social life

  • Three subraces with unique characteristics

  • A short story - "Three Travelers" which chronicles a chance meeting of three Bethrazi who happen to be very different from one another, yet find common ground when faced with a dangerous enemy. The story includes an interesting look at the natural habitat of the Bethrazi, some of their customs.

  • A narrative launching point from the story's ending to build your own stories and campaigns featuring these brave adventurers!

Cover: Bethrazi - A female humanoid with thick fur, animalistic facial features, and very large antlers, clad in leather armor stands pointing forward in a wooded forest at dusk.
Cover: At the Heart of Corruption - A transparent, demonic face overlaps a gloomy sky over a large cityscape.
