Another first for the Car Club - after a term's worth of hard work our car frame is assembled and the engine wired up to the batteries and (most importantly) the ignition!

Today we have received great news; last week we sent letters out to potential sponsors. Earlier this week we received a letter back from one of our contacts, Mr Aliaj! He has kindly agreed make a very welcome donation to our club. We are so grateful!

In other updates, our build team, Shrey, Mark and Muhammad Usman, are wiring up the motor and electrical components. After we have done this, they will then charge the battery and connect that as well.

Imaan, Halima and Hope are working on marketing / sponsorship posters, and in addition to this, the design team - Phoebe, Deepika, Ollie, Harley and Elyan - are busy creating images to go on the bodywork. Check it all out!

Here is our new logo, which has been designed and and created by Oliver and Harley, and approved by the whole team!

Today we (especially Shrey and Gabriel) finished working on letters for sponsors; we have sent an email for our first potential sponsor, and we are working on the designing, getting measurements on our car to have the outside bodywork covered and ready to put our breath-taking designs on.

The designing has been taken over by Oliver, Harley, Phoebe and Deepika. Some designs are for persuasive posters, others are for the bodywork. Our building team is working on the measurements for the race car outline for the bodywork design to be placed on.

Today, our Build team (Hope, Imaan, Gabriel and Shrey) were connecting the brake and accelerator wires to the drive shaft so when you push the breaks the car stops.

Also, our Design team (Oliver, Ralph, Muhammad Usman, Phoebe, Mark, Kit and Elyan) were working on finalising the logo by narrowing down the options to five which they will then combine into our ultimate, main logo.

Phoebe and Muhammad Usman then began some new research, looking at suitable materials for the bodywork of the car, when the inner mechanics are finished.

We are currently looking for sponsors; we will put your logo on our car. Please get in touch!

Today our different teams are working on the structure of the racing car (Muhammad Usman, Mark, Phoebe and Deepika), searching for incredible sponsors (Ralph, Kit and Elyan), Shrey and Gabriel are editing and improving our persuasive letter, and Ollie and Harley are refining our logo branding design.

Some of the amazing children in our team are conducting market research ready to ask varied brands to be the sponsor for our (hopefully winning!) car.

This week's Build Team are fitting the seat, and the rear axle assembly (which involves a lot of arduous work and dedication).

15th October 2025

This week we had two different build teams working simultaneously to fix the rear axel onto the chassis, and to put together the seat base. Well done Build Team1, Kit and Elyan, and Build Team 2, Ralph, Ollie and Harley!

While they were all hard at work, our other dedicated members split their time between further work on the logo design, research into local businesses who might be interested in sponsoring us, and drafting a persuasive letter.

For the past few weeks, we've been building and constructing Thomas Harding’s new race car. We have finished off the first section of our car (the main frame for the body). We can now see where a pupil of Thomas Harding will be able to drive. Other than building, we have also started thinking about the proud logo for the team -The Rapid Raptor Raiders. We’ve been working really hard to progress forward and being able to learn and achieve our goal. We hope that with our hard work and patience we can prove to everyone that we will be able to win.

Front Axle Assembly

Our friends have been building the framework for the tires. They have been working on the front axle of the car. We are proud of our work on the building so far and will be for the next few weeks.

The Website Builders

They have been working hard on the website. They have quoted, ”We have been working hard on our project and have been making the layout for the website.” “The website is fantastic, and we are so proud!”

Week 3

What a week! We split into smaller teams and between us all we began work on creating our website, writing our first official blog, developing and refining our logo for the car, and our build team attached the steering column and then both the front axle and front wheels!

Week 2

The build has begun! We split our team into two groups, one to focus on logo design and one to begin constructing the frame.

The Rapid Raptor Raiders are off!

Week 1

We unboxed the kit car and took an inventory of the parts. Then we voted on a name for our racing team. We are now called... The Rapid Raptor Raiders!
