What I Need!
WIN is the time during the day when every student at McKee is engaged in a literacy or math task specially prepared for a group of students with similar needs or on similar academic levels. The students participate in various engaging learning tasks that are separate from the grade level curriculum.
In third grade, our students are developing phonics skills, engaging in fluency practice, and participating in reading, writing, and math workshops.
This is an exciting time during our school day.

Why Stories
POURQUOI TALES
The students are learning about Pourquoi Tales...Why Stories!
We have spent time reading and discussing Why Stories to gain a perspective on the commonalities of these types of stories.
During our exploration, the students worked together in groups to discuss their group's story. Then, using the Jigsaw Method, the students were mixed and gathered in new groups each having a different story to share and discuss. In this way, the students were able to learn about more stories and gain an understanding of the common elements within Why Stories.
