I grew up in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, attending Duquesne University where I earned a degree in Elementary Education. (FUN FACT: My very first field experience in college in 1987 was at St. Thomas More School!!!!!) Throughout my life, I have had held a wide variety of jobs. From my very first job, delivering newspapers door-to-door, to working in a library, a grocery store, in child care as well as retail sales, I learned the value of communication, strong leadership and hard work. This prepared me for the "toughest job", family life with my husband and three children. Fast forward 10 years, with a desire to reenter the field of education, I began teaching at my children's school, Our Lady of Grace (ANOTHER FUN FACT: My husband and I both went to Our Lady of Grace grade school!), working my way to becoming the Preschool director. During my 11 years at Our Lady of Grace, I had a strong desire to continue learning and completed my Masters in Special Education from Point Park University in 2017. What I learned during that program made me realize that I have so much more to offer to my students and their families.
